Chamois defeated Fatima 54-26 in JH boys’ basketball action on Friday.
“We experienced some real foul trouble in the first half but were able to play through it,” said Coach Robbie Bates. “The kids on the bench stepped up and filled in minutes for kids who were in foul trouble. We took what we learned from our game on Thursday, applied it Friday, and it led to success.”
Grayson Gerloff scored a team-high 19 points and Brayden Cotton added 11, as Levi Weed and Ben Ruegge put in eight apiece, Victor Slack added six, and Boone Kuschel finished with two.
On. Thursday, the Pirates lost to Eugene, 36-18 after trailing 13-12 at the break.
“A lack of execution on offense was our downfall in the second half, but the kids fought the entire night,” said Bates. “We are learning how to put things together as a team each and every day.”
Cotton led with eight, Ruegge and Slack each scored four, and Gerloff posted two.
