Representatives from more than 23 companies were present at Thursday’s Chamois Career Fair, which Guidance Counselor Meghan Birmingham called a success.

“The kids were able to talk with each company to gain knowledge about each career and many of the students walked away with information that will be able to help them make smart choices about their future,” she said. “They were able to interact with the different presenters by talking with them and doing different activities that they would have done if they were in that career. This will be something we will continue every other year.”

This was the second career fair and this year Jenn Millard with Central Missouri Community Action helped host the event for students in grades K-12.

Career representatives included retired FBI agent Paul Fennewald, the Missouri National Guard, the US Marine Corps, Angie Hagenhoff of Heritage Community Bank, outpatient nurse Celia McKague, hairstylist Amanda Schaefer, the Osage County Sheriff’s Office, Osage Ambulance District, Eli Strobel with the St. Charles Fire Department, DJ's Auto Repair, 911 Operations, CMCA, retired banker Steve Duncan, the US Army, Lincoln University and Westminster University Army ROTC, State Technical College Counselor Becca Mehmert and Admissions Rep Ross Dickneite, Three Rivers Electric Cooperative, Lincoln University Department of Social Services Rehab for the Blind, Osage County Special Services, MU Extension, Children's Division, construction contractor Dave Keilholz, and Modern Litho.
