Alice Marie Benson, 89, Morrison passed away peacefully Friday, May 7, 2021 at Stonebridge Nursing Home in Hermann.
She was born Jan.11, 1932, to the late Alan and Maude (Hiller) Kasson in Washington Park, Ill.
She was united in marriage to Bernel Benson.
Alice graduated from the 8th grade from Lansdown School in Illinois. She was employed at Hullings Restaurant in downtown St. Louis during the end of World War II. She was employed with The Form Cafeteria, Switzer’s Licorice, Kestlers’ Grocery Store, a dress factory and in 1968, the Florsheim Shoe Factory and then moved to Morrison in 1971 where she worked at the factory and helped on the farm raising hogs, cattle, sheep and dogs. Alice was a loving mom, grandma and great-grandma. She will be missed every day of our lives.
Alice was preceded in death by husband, Bernel; parents, Alan and Maude; nine siblings and great-granddaughter, Faith Beaulieu.
She is survived by daughters, Deborah Polacek Hans and husband Robert of Rhineland, Shellaine Seifert and husband Jerry and Christine Cramer and husband Rick all of Morrison; brother, Charles Stowers of Collinsville, Ill.; grandchildren, Angela Polacek of Lake St. Louis, Michelle Ellis and friend Scott Hopkins of Hermann, Teressa Beaulieu and husband Eric and Timothy Cramer and wife Katlyn, all of Linn, Rebecca Edwards and husband Martin of Ashland and Katlyn Deeken and husband Brian of Morrison and great-grandchildren, Brittany and Brandon Arnsmeyer, Madison and Logan Ellis, Allison and Harlee Klebba, Bailey and Avery Beaulieu, Christian and Findely Edwards, Mackenzie Cramer and Parker and Lincoln Deeken.
The funeral services were held Tuesday, May 11, at St. James United Church of Christ with Rev. Barb Zastrow officiating. Interment was in Good Hope Cemetery.
