Ann Williams, 94, Loose Creek, passed away Thursday, Jan. 12, 2023, at Stonebridge Westphalia Hills surrounded by her loving family.
She was born April 1, 1928, to the late Anton and Agnes (Haslag) Backes in Loose Creek.
She was a 1946 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School in Loose Creek.
Ann was united in marriage to Herbert Williams June 11, 1953, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek.
She was a homemaker and raised her children before going to work for the Missouri Water Patrol in Jefferson City from where she retired in June of 1999.
Ann was preceded in death by husband, Herbert; parents, Anton and Agnes; great-granddaughter, Victoria Muenks; brothers, Herman, Fr. Hugo, Martin, Lawrence, Adolph, Fr. Charles, Peter, Paul and Raymond Backes; and sisters, Sr. Antonice Backes and Louise Volk.
She is survived by children, Paul Williams, Barbara Backes and husband Roger, Rita Stiefermann and husband Alan, Mark Williams and wife Tina, Joan Muenks and husband Greg, all of Loose Creek, Mary Markway and husband Leon and Charles Williams and wife Judy, all of Westphalia; 19 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Williams of Loose Creek.
Mass of Christian burial was held Tuesday, Jan. 17, with Fr. Anthony Rinaldo officiating. Interment was in the Immaculate Conception Parish Cemetery.
