Barbara Ellen (Held) Hemeyer, 64, Jefferson City, went peacefully to be with the Lord Saturday, Feb. 20 at Capitol Region Medical Center in Jefferson City with her loving family by her side.
She was born Dec. 5, 1956, to Elizabeth “Bettie” Held, and the late Donald H. Held in Washington.
She was united in marriage to David M. Hemeyer, Sept. 6, 1975, in Pershing.
Barbara graduated from Gasconade County R-1 High School in Hermann in 1975. She was employed for 35 years at Missouri Farm Bureau Insurance Company in Jefferson City.
After her retirement, Barbara enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren who were her pride and joy.
She was preceded in death by father, Donald H. Held and brother, Timothy Held.
Barbara is survived by husband, David of the home; mother, Elizabeth; daughter, Jennifer Hemeyer and son, Eric Hemeyer and wife Dala, all of Jefferson City; grandchildren, Alexander, Ella and William and Lincoln Hemeyer, all of Jefferson City; sisters, Cynthia Stafford of Holts Summit, and Carol Branson of Owensville; brother, Andrew Held and wife Vicki, of Hermann; and six nieces and nephews.
A private, family Celebration of Life will be held later this spring.
