Beulah Mae (Helmig) Laughlin, 78, Linn, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2020, at her home.

She was born Jan. 28, 1942, to daughter of the late Bernadine Elvina (Wolfe) Helmig and Robert Earl Helmig.

She was united in marriage Feb. 20, 1960, to Daniel Lee Laughlin. He survives of the home.

Beulah was a 1960 graduate of Linn High School. She was an active Christian, baptized in her youth at Solid Rock Baptist Church where she served as music director, homebound Sunday School teacher, Yyouth Sunday School teacher, GA leader, Vacation Bible School leader, and financial clerk.  She was a member of Linn First Baptist Church. 

She was a Girl Scout leader for 12 years and a member of the Heart of Missouri Girl Scout council, where she also served on the Wider Opportunity Girl Scout Task Force. Beulah was a charter member and membership chair of the Osage County Country Club,  a member of the Eastern Star where she served as Star Point Electa, Conductress, Worthy Matron, and secretary/treasurer, a member of the Osage County Garden Club since 2006 where she served as treasurer and historian and  a charter member of the Osage County Squares where she served as treasurer.

Beulah was employed with Linn Manufacturing for three years (1968-1971), the Linn Post Office as a clerk for six months, at Mosby print shop for 11 years (retired in 2008) and as Public Water District #3 Osage County bookkeeper for 33 years.

Her hobbies included flower gardening, sewing, Linn basketball,  watching Regina perform, and swimming. She was a people person and never met a stranger.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Elmer and Clyde Helmig; and sister, Bonnie Davis.

Beulah She is survived by husband, Daniel; daughters, and sons-in-law: Ramona Pratte  and husband Bill of Desloge, Rebecca Luebbering and husband Gary of Lee’s Summit and Regina Laughlin of Sevierville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Christopher Pratte of Park Hills, Michael Pratte and wife Jennelle of Bonne Terre, Jessica Barnes and husband Kurt of Columbia, Emily Luebbering of Salida,Colo.,  and Madeline Luebbering of Columbia; and great-grandchildren:, Violet, Cohen and  Sutton Pratte, and Garrett Barnes; sisters-in-law,, Mary Lou and Pat Helmig; and many nieces and nephews.

Her family would like to greatly thank Hospice Compassus for the care they provided Beulah and the help they gave to the family.

 A private family funeral service was held Saturday, July 25, at First Baptist Church in Linn with Rev. David Krueger and Rev. Perry Wolfe officiating.  Interment was in the Fairview Church of Christ Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions suggested to Saint Jude’s Children Cancer Center, Shriners for crippled children, First Baptist Church of Linn, Solid Rock Baptist Church or your favorite charity donor’s choice.
