Carl Zeilman 1960-2025

Carl “Shaggy” Zeilman, 64, Rich Fountain, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2025, at the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics in Columbia.

He was born Sept. 6, 1960, to the late Edwin and Mary Lou (Reinkemeyer) Zeilman in Jefferson City.

He was a 1978 graduate of Fatima High School. 

Carl was employed for 31 years with the State of Missouri working in the Office of Administration Print Shop until his retirement in 2017.  He was also employed part time with Gerbes in Jefferson City and retired in February 2024. 

Carl was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain and a member of the Rich Fountain Knights of Columbus where he was a past Grand Knight.

He was an avid bowler having two 300 games and loved watching the St. Louis Cardinals and the St. Louis Blues.  Carl also enjoyed socializing, playing cards and watching any sporting events.

Carl was preceded in death by parents, Edwin and Mary Lou.

He is survived by brothers, Kenneth Zeilman and wife Renee and Glenn Zeilman and wife Shelly, all of Rich Fountain; sister, Sandy Bock and husband Ronnie of Rich Fountain; foster sister, Debbie Meyer of Hollister; nieces and nephews, Brooke Vieth and husband Nick, Erin Gehlert and husband Bryce, Allison Olson and husband Ethan, Annie Wyatte and husband Jon, Tony Bock and Fiancée JoDee Massman, Meghan Gentges and husband Brent, Nick Zeilman and wife Andria, and Tom Zeilman and wife Payton; 13 great-nieces and nephews with three on the way; and many friends. 

  Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m.,Thursday, March 6, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain with Rev. William Debo and Rev. James Finder officiating. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery.
