Carole Lee Mathenia Jones, 83, passed away Feb. 24, 2021 in Pensacola, Fla.
She was born July 8, 1937 to Edgar J. and Betty Smallwood Mathenia in Granite City, Ill.
She was united in marriage to Robert (Bob) Marzell Jones Aug. 20, 1955, in Reno, Nev.
Carole attended grade school in Granite City, Ill., and later the family moved to California, settling in Vallejo where she graduated from Vallejo Senior High School in 1955.
Carole worked most of her life, primarily in payroll and accounting, retiring from management in 1999 from SBC in San Antonio, Texas.
She was preceded in death by parents Edgar and Betty; husband Bob; son Robert David (Dave) Jones; brother Edgar M. Mathenia and grandson Joshua David Marzell Jones.
She is survived by daughters Debi Jones Griffin (Kevin) and Pam Jones (Larry); brother-in-laws Glynn Nelson, Charlie Jones and Donald Howard; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Oct. 2, from 12:30 p.m. until 1 p.m., in the Vienna Public Cemetery, Vienna, with graveside memorial service following at 1 p.m. with Rev. Larry Sorrells, Vienna United Methodist Church officiating.
