Certified Osage County Municipal Election results show slew of Chamois R-1 write-ins

OSAGE COUNTY — Osage County municipal election

results were certified last Wednesday, with an abundance of write-in votes making the final determination as no one filed for a seat.

For the two open Chamois R-1 school board seats, Dawna Keilholz and Chuck Lamb received the most votes from Osage County at 27 and 26, respectively, followed by Donna Kelholz (8), Charles Lamb (4), and Donna Hill (2), and Gabrielle Jones, Lisa Garrett, Ben Paulsmeyer, Shane Thompson, Sean Hackman, Billy Gerloff, Stacy Cramer, Mark Mehmert, Bart Simpson, Delbert Guy Slusser, Marie Slusser, Becca Mehmert, Nick Schollmeyer, Danny Howard, and Jennifer Wright each with one vote. Gasconade County voters gave Charles Lamb four votes, followed by Donna Keilholz (3), Jason Rost (2), Eli Backmann (2), and Brad Strobel, Austin Redford, Dawn Keilholz, Daniel Howard, Sabra Paulsmeyer, Larry Rinne, Michael Rost, Timothy Cramer, Ben Paulsmeyer, and Klayton Kuschel, each with one.

Chamois R-1 proposition Keep Improving District Schools (KIDS) passed among Osage County voters, with 62 (59.05%) yes votes to 43 (40.95%) no, but was defeated 72-59 when Gasconade County votes (10-16) were added. A 57% majority is required for passage, but the measure only garnered support from 54.96% of voters.

Chamois Aldermen Shawn Mitchem and Lacey Garrett retained their seats, with 33 and 14 write-in votes, respectively, followed by Charles J. Gorman, Brad Strobel, Ralph Cramer, and Dylon Barnes with one vote each.

Andy Warren (277) and incumbent Jamie Bish (227) carried the vote for the two open Linn R-2 board seats, followed by Larry L. Hunt (224) and Pamela Stephens (220).

The Linn R-2 levy issue did not pass, by a 302-246 vote.

There were no votes from Gasconade County on either issue affecting Linn R-2.

Linn Ward 1 Alderman Dustin Flamm garnered 42 votes and Ward 2 Alderman Bill Turner received 50 votes. There are no unresolved write-ins for either uncontested position.

Freeburg trustees Darryl Haller (12 votes), Glen Haller (9), and Scott Knoll (7) will retain their positions as the only candidates on the ballot.

For City of Belle Alderman Ward 1, Rebecca Withause defeated Barbara Howarth 43-24. Among Osage County voters, Withause won 23-17.

Voters in both Osage and Gasconade counties approved the 30 cents per $100 of assessed valuation presented in Prop Fire to create the new Owensville Fire Protection District. The question passed with by a combined 597-358 count, with a 34-22 margin among Osage County voters.

For the new Owensville Fire Protection District, the five open board seats went to Cheryl Schlottach (686), Bobbi Limberg (562), James Diestelkamp (539), Micheal Nolting (452), and Glen Henneke (428), followed by Melvin D. Arnold (373), Jim Lenhoff (361), and Chris Shoffner (227). Among Osage County voters, Glen Henneke received 37 votes, followed by Micheal Nolting (35), Cheryl Schlottach (26), Chris Schoffner (22), Jim Lehnhoff (20), James Diestelkamp (19), Melvin D. Arnold (16), and Bobbi Limberg (15).

The two open Gasconade County R-2 school district seats went to Jennifer Crosby with 585 votes and Debbie Landolt with 355, followed by Mitchell Henderson (331), Joyce Lowes (207), and D. Keith Moore (167). There were no Osage County votes.

In Gasconade County, the two Morrison alderman seats went to Thomas Edward Hernandez (17 votes) and Jessica Riggins (16).
