James E. Campbell, 43, of Chamois, was arrested on Aug. 18 on two counts of abuse or negligence of a child.
Sheriff Mike Bonham said deputies were dispatched to N. Market and West Missouri Street in Chamois for a report of a child in the street and a 4-year-old female was located in the area of the report.
Witnesses on the scene told deputies that this was a common occurrence. The father Campbell walked up to deputies on the scene and said he was looking for his daughter. The child’s mother was working at the time.
Campbell was booked and released from the Osage County Jail.
