Renee D. Fears, 39, and Richard P. Jarrett, 46, both of Chamois, have been charged with possession of a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of a child following a search warrant executed Friday by the Mid Missouri Drug Task Force and the Osage County Sheriff’s Office.
During the search of the residence, a bag containing two smaller bags of a white crystal were found in Jarrett’s shorts. A grey bag containing multiple glass smoking pipes and bags containing various amounts of white crystals were recovered in the bedroom shared by the couple. In the room attached to the garage, another bag of white crystals was found in a dresser. All crystals tested positive for methamphetamine.
During an interview with Jarrett, he said he used meth intravenously and did not smoke it. He denied knowing what was in the grey bag but did not disagree with a deputy’s assertion they belonged to Fears. When told about the numerous bags and pipes containing meth, Jarrett told authorities he did not know why she would hide that from him, according to a probable cause statement.
A juvenile was inside the home at the time of the search.
