Charles Thomas Helfrich, 84, Linn, passed away Thursday, Feb. 18, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Sept. 30, 1936, to the late Charles and Dorothy (Walton) Helfrich in St. Louis.

He was united in marriage to Donna Crowe Feb. 20, 1960, in Linn.  

Charles attended school in St. Louis.  He proudly served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard.

Charles was employed as a union pipefitter for Local #562 in St. Louis from 1967 until his retirement in 1996.

He  developed the nickname “Jack Black Slade” and enjoyed fast draw competition, cowboy shoots and buying, selling and reloading guns.  

Charles was preceded in death by parents, Charles and Dorothy; sister, Georgia McGuire; and grandson, Jeffrey Helfrich.

In addition to his, Charles is survived by spouse of 61years, Donna; son, Thomas Helfrich and wife Shelly of Fenton; daughter, Lisa Loerch and husband Ken of Linn; grandchildren, Andy Wolfe and wife Tiffany, Cassie  Sneller and husband Brad and Matthew Helfrich; great-grandchildren, Kylie, Tanner, Tommy, Jeffrey, Andi, Rylee, Raylan, Luke and Sydney; great-great-grandchild, Hunter; and many nieces and nephews.

In keeping with the deceased’s wishes he was cremated, and no services will be held.
