Clinton Jacobs 1942-2025

Clinton DeWayne Jacobs, 82, Meta, passed away Thursday, April 17, at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis. 

He was born May 24, 1942, son of the late Willie and Marjorie (Clarke) Jacobs. Clinton was known to his family and friends as Wayne.

He served his country in the U. S. Navy from Sept.  6, 1960, until his honorable discharge Aug. 28, 1964. 

Wayne was employed with the Missouri Highway Patrol for many years before retiring. 

He was a cherished member of his community who had a passion for fishing and hunting. Wayne especially enjoyed this time of year going mushroom hunting. He appreciated the simple pleasures of life and the comfort of his homestead and surroundings brought him peace. Wayne often spent his days working on his farm. 

He was preceded in death by parents, Willie and Marjorie; and  brother, William “Billy” Jacobs. 

Wayne is survived by daughter, Valorie Sparks and husband Rick of St. Louis; son, Christopher Jacobs and wife Chrissy of Meta; grandchildren, Madison and Ricky Sparks, Tyler and Austin Jacobs and William and Evan Harper; brother, Joseph “Joe” Jacobs and wife Mary; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 22, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Meta with Bro. Bob Hamm officiating.  Interment with military honors was in Southside Cemetery in Meta.
