Coad “Cody” Murphy Stricklan, 45, Vienna, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2022.

He was born Nov. 1, 1976, to Berry Samuel and Melanee Jane (Murphy) Stricklan in Jefferson City.

He was united in marriage to Angela Renee James, Nov. 8, 1997, in Vienna.

Cody was a member of the Vienna United Methodist Church, a 1995 graduate of Maries R-1 High School in Vienna, Local #257 and also “Co-Founder of the Left Field Lounge Lizards”. He was a baseball coach for many years in Vienna, a leader in FFA and 4-H activities and the Vienna Lions Club.

He was employed by MidStates Energy Company as an Industrial Electrician and a certified AI Technician.

Cody was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Jimmie and Pauline Stricklan; and maternal grandmother, Jane Murphy.

He is survived by wife, Angie of Vienna; parents, Berry and Melanee of Vienna; children, Maddie Brianne Stricklan and friend Jacob Bax, Gavin Murphy Stricklan and Cash Wesley Stricklan, all of Vienna; brother, Jeffrey Samuel Stricklan and wife Jessica of Vienna; maternal grandfather, Lloyd Murphy of Vienna; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Brian and Becky James of Vienna; grandmother-in-law, Velma Hayes of Vienna; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Anthony James and wife Roxanne of California and Adam James of Vienna; and many other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 14, in the Vienna United Methodist Church in Vienna with Rev. Karen Alden officiating.

Memorial contributions suggested to the Cody Stricklan Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Arrangements entrusted to Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home in Vienna.
