Colleen G. Strope, 51, Chamois, passed away Monday, Aug. 22, 2022, at Jefferson City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Jefferson City surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Feb. 20, 1971, to the late Elmer and Jane (Kaullen) Keilholz in Jefferson City.

She was a 1989 graduate of Chamois High School.

Colleen was united in marriage to Rodney L. Strope, March 16, 1993, in Linn.

She was employed for over 25 years as a preschool teacher at Chamois Head Start and at Bailey’s Learn in Play in Loose Creek.

Colleen enjoyed cooking, watching the birds, tending to her flower garden and being a teacher, but her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husband of 28 years, Rodney; parents, Elmer and Jane; mother-in-law; father-in-law; and two sisters-in-law.

Colleen is survived by son, Zachary Strope and fiancée Alexys of Chamois; daughter, Tiffany Perrey and husband Justin of Linn; bonus daughter, Ashley Strope and fiancé Eddie of Chamois; grandchildren, Daylynn and Kenton Perrey, Keegan and Riley Fain and Andi Honey; brothers, Joe Keilholz and friend Verda Rogers, David Keilholz and wife Sandra and Jeffrey Keilholz and wife Jennifer, all of Chamois; sister, Deborah Keilholz and friend April Joni of Fulton; brothers-in-law, Keith Strope of Morrison, Jeff Strope of Jefferson City, Greg Strope and wife Ruth and Dana Strope, all of Linn; sisters-in-law, Yvonne Haslag and husband Dale of Linn, Kim Kever and husband Larry of Bonnots Mill and Stephanie Eichholz and husband Richard of Westphalia; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

The funeral service was held Thursday, Aug. 25, at Morton Chapel in Chamois, with Bro. Eddie Schoeneberg officiating. Interment was in the Deer Creek Cemetery near Chamois.
