Daniel Richard Kucsik, 56, Linn Creek, passed away Saturday, April 3, 2021 at his home.

He was born Oct. 27, 1964, to Julius Emerich and Beverly Alice (Lake) Kucsik in St. Louis.

He was a 1983 graduate of Fatima High School and later attended Lincoln University, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.

Dan was employed as a programmer for the Missouri State Lottery from 1985 until 1996 and then for the National City Bank in Columbus, Ohio. In 1998, Dan, along with his dad and other family members, founded Happy Trails RV Center where he maintained ownership until his passing.

He worked hard and played harder. Dan liked bad jokes and told them often and was the self-proclaimed “Favorite Uncle”. He was a sports fanatic who collected countless pieces of sports memorabilia and was a wealth of knowledge on the topicsof hockey, baseball or music, especially rock and roll. Dan was an instigator and a master at poking fun.

He was preceded in death by father Julius; maternal and paternal grandparents; and his beloved furry companion, Guido.

Dan is survived by mother, Beverly of Jefferson City; step-mother, Carol Kucsik of Linn Creek; brothers, John Kucsik and wife Christie of Springfield, Mike Kucsik of Linn, Robert Kucsik and wife Kim of Four Seasons and Richard Kucsik and wife Pam of Jefferson City; nephews and nieces, Reavis, Josh, Zach, Nick, Ethan, Ben, Olivia, Emma and Ella Kucsik; girlfriend, Nancy Fisher of Springfield; and special friend, Sarah Siegismund of Overland Park.

He and his family remain forever grateful to Kathryn Yonter of Marshfield for her donation of life as a living non-relative kidney donor.

A celebration of life was held Thursday, April 8, from 4 until 6 p.m. in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Don Antweiler officiating. Private graveside services were at Resurrection Cemetery.

Memorial contributions suggested to the American Kidney Foundation, American Cancer Society or Dogwood Animal Shelter.
