Daniel “Danny” Joseph Neuner, 69, Rich Fountain, passed away peacefully Sunday, Feb. 14, 2021, at Kindred Hospital in St. Louis surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Feb. 21, 1951, to the late Hubert John and Evelyn Thresia (Luecke) Neuner in Jefferson City.
He was united in marriage to Holly Jaegers Sept. 1, 1990, at St. George Catholic Church in Linn.
Danny attended Sacred Heart Catholic School in Rich Fountain and was a 1970 graduate of Fatima High School.He was employed for his uncle Alvin Luecke cutting logs, as a truck driver for Grellner Sales and Service and Mebruer and Sons Trucking, both in Rich Fountain, owned and operated his own trucking business and was partners with his brothers, working on the family farm.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain, the Rich Fountain Knights of Columbus and a past member of the Linn Young Farmers.
Danny enjoyed playing cards, gardening, tinkering on some project in his shed, taking the kids fishing, going for drives in the country, cutting grass and going to farm auctions. He was a very hard worker but when he did find time to relax, he enjoyed watching the gameshow network and old western TV shows.
Danny was preceded in death by parents, Hubert and Evelyn; infant son, William Neuner; and father- and mother-in-law, Albert and Nancy Jaegers.
He is survived by spouse of 30 years, Holly; children, Nathan, Megan and Grace Neuner, all of the home; brothers, Jerry Neuner, Steve Neuner and wife Diane, Bernie Neuner and wife Vicky, Alvin “Chip” Neuner and Ted Neuner and wife Debi, all of Rich Fountain; Tom Neuner and wife Charlotte of Linn, Joseph Neuner of Jefferson City and Bob Neuner and wife Teta of Holts Summit; sisters, Linda Neuner of Rich Fountain, Mary Ann Stegeman and husband Dennis of Holts Summit, Becky Wekenborg and husband Sam of Taos and Ebby Neuner of Jefferson City; brother and sister-in-law, Karl and Denise Jaegers of LaMonte; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, and a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, both at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain with Rev. William Debo officiating. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery.
Memorial contributions suggested to the Neuner Children Education Fund or Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
