Dean R. Shockley, 59, passed away March 16, 2025, at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
He was born Aug. 17, 1965, in Jefferson City, to Dennis “DJ” Shockley of Cuba and June Wacker of Owensville.
He attended Owensville Schools and graduated from Linn Tech.
Dean served in the USAF as a Staff Sergeant and also served in the Air National Guard.
He was united in marriage to Garlanda Shockley (nee Pyatt) May 3, 2014.
Dean was employed with Husky Corp for 23 years.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Theresa Tate; and paternal grandparents, Donald and Pearl Shockley.
Dean is survived by wife, Garlanda; parents, Dennis Shockley and wife Alice and June Wacker; children, Ashley Olson and husband Aaron of Albuquerque, N.M., Shaina Shockley of St. Charles and Alesha Shockley of Owensville; step-children, Seth Pyatt of New York, Chad Kitchen of St. Louis and Jonathan Kitchen and Mackenzie Kitchen, both of St. Charles; nine grandchildren; and sisters, Jill Kratky and friend Tim Sunderson of Arnold and Wendy Ferguson and wife Virginia.
Visitation will be held frm 3 until 8 p.m., Sunday, March 23 and from 10 until 11 a.m., Monday, March 24, followed by the funeral service at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters. Interment will be in St. Charles Memorial Gardens in St. Charles.
