Donald “Don” James Lester Thompson, 84, Vienna, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Capital Region Hospital in Jefferson City.
He was born Sept. 8, 1940, to the late Raymond Robert and Lucille Edith (Fisher) Thompson in Maries County.
He was united in marriage to Nancy Jane Crider Aug. 19, 1961.
Don worked at cutting cordwood, working for Champlain’s Construction in Jefferson City, Goldammer Construction, Missouri Highway Department and WW Cedar.
He was preceded in death by parents, Raymond and Lucille; brothers, Marvin Thompson, Leo Thompson, Charles Thompson and Lonnie Thompson; sisters, infant Dessie Mae Thompson and Mary Margaret Crider and in-laws, Harry and Bertha Crider.
Don is survived by wife, Nancy of Vienna; daughter, Rita Humphrey and husband Mark of Jefferson City; grandson, Cody Humphrey of Rolla; and brother, Ronnie and wife Donna of Vienna.
Funeral services were held May 10 in the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home in Vienna with Bro. Robert Crum officiating.
Interment was in the Rader Cemetery inVienna.
