Fatima hit the road last Tuesday to take on Osage, where the Lady Comets’ soccer team scored first but ultimately came up short, 5-1, in the final minutes.

Alex Berhorst put Fatima on the board early with a breakaway goal, giving the Comets a burst of momentum in the first half. Despite tireless defensive efforts, Osage rallied to claim the win before time expired.

With a 14-player roster, the Lady Comets are beginning to feel the strain of injuries heading into week four. “We’ve had to adjust quickly with players stepping into new roles each game,” said Head Coach Kelley-Marie Wibberg. “Even with the setbacks, the team continues to work hard and compete. Their resilience and ability to have fun no matter what is something we’re really proud of.”

Caroline Neubert has 92 saves on the season so far, while Berhorst has two goals and Abby Rogers has scored one.

In a special tribute to raise awareness for breast cancer prevention, the Lady Comets will sport pink jerseys against Blair Oaks on April 22. Proceeds from the night will benefit the Red Slipper Warrior Project.
