Florence T. Dudenhoeffer, 93, Linn, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born April 9, 1928, to the late Ferdinand “Fred” and Annie (Kremer) Backes in Luystown.

She was united in marriage to Alfons Dudenhoeffer Sept. 17, 1949, at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Frankenstein.

Florence was a graduate of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic High School in Frankenstein.

In addition to being a homemaker, she was employed at the Missouri Division of Employment Security in Jefferson City and worked with her husband on the family farm.

Florence was a member of St. George Catholic Church, St. Ann’s Sodality, Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, VFW Ladies Auxiliary; and she volunteered at the Good Shepherd Food Pantry in Linn.

She enjoyed embroidery, reading, cooking and spending time with her family.

Florence was preceded in death by spouse of 49 years, Alfons; parents, Ferdinand and Annie; sisters, Bernadine Schulte, Nelda Keilholz and an infant sister, Mary Agnes; son-in-law, Allen Dahlstrom; daughter-in-law, Linda Dudenhoeffer; granddaughter, Ginny Wattler; and great-grandson, Jackson Moore.

She is survived by children, Dave Dudenhoeffer and wife Joan, Roy Dudenhoeffer and wife Lisa, Ralph Dudenhoeffer and wife Kathy, Carl Dudenhoeffer and wife Joyce and Kenny Dudenhoeffer, all of Linn, Glenda Dahlstrom of Jefferson City, Tom Dudenhoeffer and Lois Jaegers and friend Dennis Sandbothe, all of Jefferson City and Mike Dudenhoeffer and wife Denise of Cairo; and 24 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren; sisters, Josephine Dudenhoeffer and Rita Bonnot, both of Jefferson City; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

A Mass of Christian burial was held Monday, Aug. 30, at St. George Catholic Church in Linn with Fr. Colin Franklin officiating. Interment was in the St. George Parish Cemetery.
