The Communist government of China – for months after the discovery of COVID-19 – allowed many thousands of residents of the Wuhan area of China to hop on planes headed all over the world. There was one exception to this policy. Planes leaving Wuhan did not travel to other Chinese cities.
By doing this the government reduced the spread of the disease within China, but caused it to decimate other countries. Was this intentional? Of course, it was intentional. Changing the pattern of airline travel did not happen by chance.
This was nothing less than a travesty, but you wouldn’t know it by the way our media is treating it.
I’m 78. I was raised in an era when the American media warned the public of the dangers of Communism, when the leaders of China and Russia were called dictators, when the policies of Democrats like Harry Truman and Republicans like Dwight Eisenhower were not all that different. Americans loyal to this nation acted as if they knew the good guys from the bad guys.
Today’s media worship at the altar of Pelosi, Schumer and Schiff, who in turn see Donald Trump as the enemy, and the monsters in China as victims of racism. That is sick.
Pelosi and company are doing everything they can to see that China comes out on top. That’s treason.
Those of us that see the Chinese Communist Party as the enemy, have our hands full. It’s tough to buy something that is not made in China. Last week I needed to buy a lopper, the tool used to “lop” off tree limbs. My three choices were all made by Fiskars, the company that makes a fine set of scissors. All were made in China. I passed, and I urge you to do the same if faced with that choice. There has got to be a lopper out there made somewhere other than in China.
At that same display showing the three loppers, was a really good wood-splitting maul and a great hatchet. The hatchet was made in Finland and the maul in Taiwan. I almost bought the maul, even though I really don’t need it. I thought about buying it solely because it was made in Taiwan. That in and of itself is a good story.
Many young people have probably never heard of Taiwan, formerly part of China. It was formed in 1949, when the losers of the civil war in China fled to the island and started their own nation. The Communist leaders of China hate the thought of Taiwan not being under their control. The Communists also hate Taiwan because the country has had such a successful economy for so long. U.S. leaders, beginning with Harry Truman, have always protected Taiwan from China. Would a Pelosi-influenced government do the same?
One good thing we can do as Americans is look for the Made in USA label. Unfortunately there are many products no longer made in this country. In that case, we should certainly try to avoid buying from our enemies. No better way to thumb your nose at the Chinese than to buy from Taiwan. I’m sure as hell going to avoid the Made in China label if at all possible. I looked on the internet and there are loppers for sale, some made in Taiwan and at least one in the U.S. We can make a difference.
