Frances Irene Zimmerman, 84, Owensville, formerly of Osage Beach, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Washington.

She was born Dec. 21, 1937, to the late Leonard and Helen (Maciejewski) Brown in Rosebud.

She was united in marriage to Francis (Frank) Patrick Zimmerman Aug. 19, 1967, in Hermann.

Irene was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Owensville and Our Lady of The Lake Catholic Church in Lake Ozark where she was a member of the Ladies of the Knights of Columbus and Ladies Sodality at both churches. She was also a member of Elks Lodge #2517 in Osage Beach and volunteered at Hope House in Lake Ozark and Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach.

Irene loved watching the St. Louis Cardinals play. She also enjoyed fishing, gardening, playing cards, listening to country music but especially spending time with family.

Irene was preceded in death by husband, Frank; parents, Leonard and Helen; grandsons, Derrick and Dustin Zimmerman; great-granddaughter, Taylor Carr; daughter-in-law, Judy Ammerman; son-in-law, Steve Mitchell; and Pam Wilson.

She is survived by children, Charles “Dinger” Ammerman of Owensville, Tammy Garth and husband Mike of Mt. Sterling, David Zimmerman and wife Fran of Beaufort, S.C., April Waugh and husband Logan of Queen City, Mark Zimmerman and wife Roberta of Linn, Michael Ammerman of Sunrise Beach, Brian Griffen and wife Lorna of Washington, Brenda Baumbach and husband Doug of Cuba and Patty Savage and husband Don of Lake Ozark; and 27 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; and many relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian burial was held Tuesday, March 22 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Owensville with Fr. Wayne Boyer officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Memorial contributions suggested to the family’s choice.
