Friday accident damages vehicles on Jim Butler’s lot

Traffic on Hwy. 50 was slowed Friday after a vehicle driven by William J. Saffeels, 46, of Bonnots Mill, careened off the south side of the road, overturned and crashed into several cars sitting in the Jim Butler lot. According to the Linn Police Department, Saffeels was traveling westbound when he dropped a lit cigarette in his lap, traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck multiple vehicles before coming to rest on the vehicles roof. Six vehicles were struck by Saffeels: a 2018 Mercedes C-Class, a 2016 Nissan Maxima, a 2018 Ford Focus, a 2019 Chrysler 300, a 2018 Ford Focus, and a 2019 Ford Fiesta.
