Gloria Shockley, 82, Chamois, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2020 at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.

She was born Oct. 18, 1937, to the late Leo and Mary (Love) Pearon at Linn.

She married Cletus Shockley May  29, 1955, at  Mint Hill.

Gloria was a 1955 graduate of Linn High School. She was employed at Westinghouse in Jefferson City, owned and operated Clete’s Café in Chamois  with her husband and later retired from the Morrison Apparel Factory. Gloria was a member of the First Baptist Church in Chamois and a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post #506.

She was preceded in death by husband, Cletus; parents, Leo and Mary Pearon; daughter, Janet Shockley; one grandson; one great-grandson; a son-in-law; sister, Freda Hilgert and brother, Ivan Pearon.

She is survived by daughters, Linda Duncan of Chamois, Charlotte Townley and husband Glen of Chamois, Beverly Backes and husband Tim of Frankenstein and Ellen Nichols and husband Lindell of Chamois; a grandson that she raised and wife; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sister, Pauline Fredrich of Linn; brothers, Ernie Pearon and wife Pam of California and Donnie Pearon and wife Caroline of Linn; a sister-in-law, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. 

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. (today) Wednesday, June 10, at Morton Chapel in Chamois with a funeral service to follow at 1 p.m.  Interment will follow at the Shirley Mint Hill Cemetery.
