Sheriff Mike Bonham announced the promotion of Amber Haslag to sergeant as of March 15. “Amber is a high-quality performer,” said Bonham. “She has always demonstrated leadership qualities and is well-deserving of this promotion.”
Haslag, a Loose Creek native who currently lives in Linn, joined the Osage County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center in April 2020. She was promoted to corporal after six months and has served as the Detention Corporal for the past five months.
“She has strong dedication to the sheriff’s office and takes incredible initiative to do work effectively and efficiently,” said Bonham.
During the promotion ceremony, Haslag was also awarded the Life-Saving Award by Sheriff Bonham. During her first shift alone following training, Haslag recognized an inmate was experiencing signs of a heart attack. She quickly assessed the situation, dialed 9-1-1, and sent the inmate to the emergency room for care.
