Holy Family’s XC teams won last Wednesday’s home meet at the Westphalia Knights of Columbus course.
Coach Wes Kampeter said this is a very dedicated group of runners. “If one runner has a bad race, the others pull through and make up for it,” he added, noting both squads have been battling every week for the top spots as individuals and as a team. “That’s what makes this sport so fun: you run on your own, but as a team, the positivity is like no other. I’m very proud of how the Knights have done so far this year and look forward to a strong finish as well. Keep up the great running, Knights! The whole group of PALS XC teams and coaches is very passionate and caring, and everyone has outstanding sportsmanship.”
In last week’s race, Lexi Massman won the girls’ event in 10:36, followed by Chloe Voss (5, 11:00), Rilynn Wieberg (12, 11:50), Brooklyn Kampeter (13, 12:04), Kinzie Haller (15, 12:11), and Ashton Berhorst (20, 12:19).
Evan Kampeter led the boys’ team with a sixth-place run of 10:03, followed by Carter Orscheln (8, 10:12), Will Borgmeyer (10, 10:20), Beckham Stuckenschneider (11, 10:27), Emmett Dake (18, 11:03), Hank Kampeter (43, 12:18), Mathew Kloeppel (69, 13:36), and Carson Kampeter (91, 16:23).
