Irene Johanna Kliethermes, 93, Loose Creek, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 29, 2021, at Adams Street Nursing Home in Jefferson City.

She was born June 21, 1927, to the late Jack and Theckla (Koetting) Keefe in Osage City.

She was united in marriage to Clifford Kliethermes, July 17, 1946, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek.

Irene attended the Cadet Creek School in Osage County.

She was a homemaker and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek, St. Ann’s Sodality, Quilting Club, a past choir member, Red Hatters Club, the Senior Bowling Club, Knight of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary and VFW Post #4756 Ladies Auxiliary.

Irene enjoyed working crossword puzzles, bowling and quilting in her own home doing 12-15 quilts a year.

She was preceded in death by parents, Jack and Theckla; spouse of 41 years, Clifford; sons, Richard “Rick” and Clifford “Randy” Kliethermes; two grandsons, three great-grandchildren; one son-in-law and siblings.

Irene is survived by children, Darlene Brandt and husband Joe, Judy Muenks and husband Norman and Patty Hays and husband Rick, all of Loose Creek, Linda Baskett and husband Johnny of Yukon, Okla., Janice “Jennie” Brand of Taos, Joan Prenger and husband Russell of Vienna, William “Bill” Kliethermes and wife Sheila of Westphalia and Russell Kliethermes of Hesperia, Calif.; 24 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 8:30 to 10 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial, Thursday, May 6, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek with Fr. Anthony Rinaldo officiating. Interment will be in the Immaculate Conception Parish Cemetery in Loose Creek.
