James L. Heidbrink, 77, Linn, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2021, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 28, 1943, to the late Fred and Anna (Hollandsworth) Heidbrink in Mt. Sterling.
He was united in marriage to Sherah A. Armbruster June 26, 1965 at Pin Oak Baptist Church in Mt. Sterling.
James was a 1961 graduate of Linn High School and a 1963 graduate of Linn State Technical College with a degree in Electronics. He was employed at Kellwood Manufacturing in New Haven as a maintenance electrician. James was a member of Pin Oak Baptist Church in Mt. Sterling.
He enjoyed going to listen to Gospel music, watching tractor pulls, cutting wood and messing with his chainsaws; and never turned down a free meal.
James is survived by wife of 52 years, Sherah; parents, Fred and Anna; and an infant brother, Fred Heidbrink, Jr.
He is survived by sons, Steven Heidbrink of Mt. Sterling and Clinton Heidbrink and wife Carolyn of Jefferson City; grandchildren, Brittany Heidbrink and Gannon and Lacey Heidbrink; great-grandchild, Preston Figueroa; Jennifer (Arnold) Chambers of Columbia and Jeffrey Arnold of Owensville, who considered him to be like a “dad” to them; Jana (Garth) Albers, who he treated like a “sister-in-law”; and his beloved cat, Chappy with whom Jim spent many an enjoyable hour with.
Visitation will be held from 10 until 11 a.m. Saturday, May 15, followed by the funeral service at Pin Oak Baptist Church in Mt. Sterling with Pastors Glen Duncan and Greg Kontz officiating. Inurnment will bed at Giedinghagen Cemetery near Mt. Sterling.
Memorial contributions suggested to Pin Oak Baptist Church.
