James Edward “Jim” Hollaway, 88, Jefferson City, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Jefferson City Manor.
He was born Sept. 22, 1936, to the late George and Christine (Herzing) Hollaway in Freeburg.
He was a 1954 graduate of Fatima High School in Westphalia.
Jim was united in marriage to Sandra Lee Wright Oct. 9, 1965 in Clinton.
He was employed in various positions within the financial banking sector including consumer credit division and vice president loan officer as well as Page & Brown Convention Services in Camdenton.
Jim was a member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph, Knights of Columbus Bishop McAuliffe Council 12991, Forth Degree Knights of Columbus Dan C. Coppin Assembly 573, and the American Legion Post 5.
He enjoyed outdoor activities including gardening, yard work, hunting and fishing. Jim also enjoyed baseball, cooking, listening to music and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by parents, George and Christine; son-in-law, Andy Delano; and brother, Leroy Hollaway and wife Marcie.
Jim is survived by wife, Sandra of Jefferson City; daughters, Beth Delano of O’Fallon, Lorri Taggart and husband Bob of Holts Summit and Kristie Johnson and husband Carl of Deerfield; grandchildren, Kyle Cardwell and wife Kassie, Tyler Parton, Nathan Delano, Bailey Taggart, Jeffery Taggart and wife Jessica and Jordan Hale and husband Will; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
Visitation will be held from 10 until 11 a.m.,Thursday, April 24, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Cathedral of St. Joseph with the Rev. Msgr. Robert A. Kurwicki, VG officiating.
Entombment will be in Resurrection Catholic Mausoleum.
Memorial contributions suggested to the Cathedral of St. Joseph Foundation, Vitae Foundation or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
