James “Jim” L. Rotter, 81, Loose Creek, passed away Friday, March 24, 2023, at Oak Tree Villas in Jefferson City.
He was born Feb. 20, 1942, to the late Leo and Mary Catherine (Kirsch) Rotter in Bonnots Mill.
He was a 1960 graduate of Fatima High School.
Jim proudly served his country in the U. S. Army.
He was united in marriage to Karen Holt July 26, 1969, in Bonnots Mill.
Jim was employed as a lineman for Three Rivers Electric Coop for 40 years retiring in 2006.
He had two hobbies, keeping his cars clean and working.
Jim was preceded in death by parents, Leo and Mary Catherine; sister, Catherine Porting and husband Arthur; and brother-in-law, Richard Holterman.
He is survived by spouse of 53 years, Karen; son, Lee Rotter of Hartsburg; sisters, Ruth Bowen and husband John of Bonnots Mill, Helen Libbert and husband Larry of Bonnots Mill and Sharon Holterman of Freeburg; grandchild, Athena Decker; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until noon, Saturday, April 1, followed by the funeral service at Morton Chapel in Linn. Interment will be in Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in Loose Creek.
