Jefferson City woman unhurt in accident on Main Street

Posted

Katie Kempker, 44, of Jefferson City, was unhurt following an accident on Thursday at about 4 p.m. on Main Street in Linn.

According to Linn Police Chief Michael Bickell, the accident occurred as Kempker was traveling westbound, exited the right side of the roadway, and struck the north curb.

Kempker continued to travel westbound for approximately 20 feet, exited the roadway on the right side, and struck an electrical pole on the north side of the roadway where it came to rest in front of St. George.

A representative of Ameren Missouri said two residences on the south side of Main Street and Notre Dame Hall were the only buildings to lose power due to the accident.

Crews removed a power line that crossed Main Street, and later the broken pole was replaced.

Cable America crews were also on the scene but could not repair the line until the pole was reset, which was completed on Friday.
