Jerome “Jerry” Eichholz, 82, Bonnots Mill, passed away Tuesday Nov. 12, 2024, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 25, 1942, to the late Clem and Bernadine Scheppers Eichholz in Westphalia.
He was united in marriage to Shirley Backes May 22, 1965, at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Frankenstein.
Jerry was a member of the St. Louis of France Catholic Church in Bonnots Mill. He was an active sacristan and a 35-year honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus and also past president of the Bonnots Mill Community Betterment Association.
He worked for 40 years as a Certified Surgical Technician at Charles E. Still/Capital Region Medical Center, serving as Director of Endoscopy for 13 years.
Jerry had a love for gardening, quilting, decorating and traveling, especially his annual trips to Texas.
He was preceded in death by wife, Shirley; parents, Clem and Bernadine; five brothers; three sisters; and several in-laws.
Jerry is survived by sons DeWayne Eichholz and wife Cindy and Greg Eichholz and wife Cheryl; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers; two bonus brothers; and two sisters-in-law.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Nov. 18, at St. Louis of France Catholic Church in Bonnots Mill with Fr. Anthony Rinaldo officiating. Interment was in the St. Louis of France Parish Cemetery.
Memorial contributions suggested to the Bonnots Mill Community Betterment Association.
