Jerome Louis Knollmeyer, 77, Jefferson City, passed away Saturday, Sept. 5, 2020, of pneumonia, at Boone Hospital, surrounded by his family. 

He was born Feb. 25, 1943, to Francis and Antoinette (Haar) Knollmeyer, in Jefferson City  at St. Mary’s Hospital. Jerome attended St. George Catholic School and graduated from Linn High School. He was a member of St. George Catholic Church in Linn. Jerry served in the U.S. Army as a radio mechanic. He retired from IBM, where he worked many places including Japan, Rochester, Minn., Austin, Texas, and Raleigh, N.C. In retirement, he was a full-timer in his 5th-wheel recreational vehicle. After traveling, he settled in Jefferson City to be near his family.

 Jerry enjoyed a variety of interests including competitive roller and ice skating, playing theater organ and playing trumpet in the Jefferson City Community Symphonic Band. He also played guitar, accordion, and hammer dulcimer. He was a member of the NRA and the United Sportsman’s club. He supported conservative, common sense government, and was a member of the Sheriff’s Posse. Also, he spent many hours riding bicycles and fixing bikes for the neighborhood children. Jerry was artistic and shared his talents in embroidery, vinyl, and created humorous signs for his front yard.

Jerry was known for his great sense of humor and generous spirit. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

 Jerome was preceded in death by brother, John Joseph  and sister-in-law, Eleanor Ann Knollmeyer. 

He is survived by brothers Don and wife Jeanne and Frank and wife Glennis; nephews, Joseph, John F., Timothy, Michael, Thomas; and nieces, Dianne Bisges, Denise Frey, Donna Knollmeyer, Kriste Ludwig, and Darla Iven.

Jerry loved his pet cats, especially Blaze, Lady Fenring (deceased) and Thorsagard’s Tattinger (deceased.)

A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 19, at St. George Catholic Church in Linn.

Interment will follow in the St. George Cemetery in Linn. (Masks are required to enter St. George Church.)

Memorial contributions suggested to Donald J. Trump Re-election Fund (MAGA) or St. George Church.
