Joan “Joni” Boss, 82, Chamois, passed away June 25, 2022, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born July 3, 1939, to the late Louis and Ina (Casey) Ruggles in Gasconade County.
She was united in marriage to Otto Boss June 20, 1959, at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
Joni was a 1957 graduate of Hermann High School.
She was employed with Mosby’s for 21 years as an order processor.
Joni was a member of the Lion’s Club, Community of Faith Choir, Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church and founded the Chamois Community in Action.
She was preceded in death by husband of 55 years, Otto; and parents, Louis and Ina.
Joni is survived by children, Bryan Boss and wife Leah Ann of Bonnots Mill, Connie Brandt and husband Stanley of Linn and Vicky Nelson and husband Rowan of Fulton; sister, Linda Casey and husband Jim of Jefferson City; brother, Bobby Ruggles of Elizabethtown, Ky.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m., followed by a Memorial Mass Saturday, July 9, at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Chamois with Fr. David Means officiating. Interment will be private for the family.
