Kenneth J. Redden, 89, Chamois, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021, at General Baptist Nursing Home in Linn.
He was born June 5, 1931, to the late John and Flora (Frederick) Redden in Hope.
He was united in marriage to June Haeffner Feb. 14, 1953, in Pershing.
Ken was a 1949 graduate of Linn High School. He later went on to serve his country in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War. Ken was employed as the weight inspector with the Missouri Highway Patrol in Union, manager of MFA in Chamois, a farm equipment salesman for Schaeperkoetter’s in Owensville. He helped establish Osage Vans in Linn and in 2001 he retired from Scholastic in Jefferson City. Ken also served as an Osage County Commissioner for District 1. He was very active and a charter member of Community Christian Church near Linn participating in Bible Study and Sunday School.
Ken enjoyed traveling, reading, and just spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by wife, June of 49 years; parents, John and Flora; and sister, Margaret Baldwin and an infant sister.
Ken is survived by sons, Wayne Redden and wife Carolyn of Jefferson City and Roger Redden and wife Lorrainna of Kinsley, Kan.; grandchildren, Candance Mitchell, Melissa Crede, Ben, Mary and Sarah Redden and Angie Marie Roark; great-grandchildren, Payton, Jaden, Jacob, Alexa, Charles, Darion and Chloe; one great-great- granddaughter, Sophia; sister, Marilyn Schneiders of Linn; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. (today) Wednesday, May 5 at Morton Chapel in Linn. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 6, at Community Christian Church near Linn with Tim Mitchell, Lead Minister officiating. Full military honors will follow the funeral service.
Memorial contributions suggested to the Oklahoma Church of Christ Cemetery Fund.
