The Fatima Lady Comets C team finished the regular season undefeated, 15-0, with a tough schedule facing teams like Rock Bridge, Helias, Jefferson City and Blair Oaks.
“I couldn’t be more proud of these young Lady Comets and what they were able to accomplish all season,” said Coach Curtis Brandt. “These girls faced some very large schools and teams that were much taller than us, but never let that intimidate them. Each and every player used their unique skill set to add value to the team and work together as one. They stayed positive and focused in each match and put together the strongest performance possible both offensively and defensively.
Consistency was a key to Fatima’s success all season, with very few errors committed, Brandt noted.
“Not giving the other team a free point is very important at this level,” he added. “Aggressive volleyball each and every time they step foot on the court both during games as well as during practice has also been vital to being as competitive as they have been.
This team isn’t the strongest or the tallest or the best coached, but what is special is that no one has told them these facts and they do not believe them, so they play like they are the best and that is why they are the best. Congratulations Lady Comets on a great season.”
