Larry L. Monroe, 82, Linn, passed away Sunday, July 4, 2021, at SSM St. Mary’s Health Center in Jefferson City surrounded by his loving family.

He was born March 16, 1939, to the late William and Josephine (Branson) Monroe in Pointers Creek.

He attended Pointers Creek Elementary School and was a 1957 graduate of Linn High School. Larry also attended Bolivar College.

He was a lifelong farmer and enjoyed raising hogs, cattle and crops. Larry was also a carpenter building houses in the area. He was a former member of Oklahoma Church of Christ, Solid Rock Baptist Church and of the Channel 22 CB Club.

Larry enjoyed bowling, gardening, fishing, hunting, trapping, playing his electric guitar, listening to his CB radio with his call name of “Catfish” and spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed helping people and was a good “ole American guy”.

Larry was preceded in death by parents, William and Josephine; grandson, Codey Ratliff; brother-in-law, Bob Roberts and his special dog, Jake.

He is survived by his loving companion, Margie Wilson of Linn; sons, Jeff Monroe and wife Cindy of Linn and Gregory Monroe of Loose Creek; daughters, Jayne Masek and Dwaine Hilke, both of Phoenix, Ariz. and Gayle Templeton and husband Tony of Russellville; Margie’s son, Cliff Wilson of Morrison; grandchildren, Jared Monroe and wife Monica, Jordan Monroe, Kendra Izaguirre-Masek and husband Jhonny, Kayla Gonzales and husband Sammy, Elijah Templeton and friend Grace Barnett and Levi Templeton; great-grandchildren along with two on the way, Kayden and Sophia Monroe, Zane Westcott, Macario Izaguirre, Luna and Roman Gonzales and baby girl, Jade Izaguirre due in October of 2021 and baby boy, Easton Monroe due in November of 2021; sister, Linda Roberts of Linn; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held from 4 - 7 p.m., Thursday, July 8, at Morton Chapel in Linn. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 9 at 11 a.m., at Morton Chapel in Linn with Rev. Perry Wolfe officiating. Interment will be in the Pointers Creek Cemetery.
