Linn golfers had a great day at Redfield on Wednesday of last week, claiming the team championship with a 354 to beat Fatima (359), Eugene (383), and Russellville (413).

“It was another windy day, but we played well enough to win another conference championship,” said Coach Ryan Rost. “I was proud of how we bounced back after Monday. Still not our best scores, but it was nice to get the title back.

Jett Maasen (38-43) and Britt Winslow (40-41) tied for first with an 81, and Maasen beat Winslow in an 18th-hole playoff to earn conference champion honors.

Rhett Robinson shot 46-45-90 to place seventh and earn All-Conference honors. Landen Bennett shot a 52-51-101, and Devin Brandt finished a 51-57-109.

Linn opened last week on Monday in the Helias Catholic invitational at Jefferson City Country Club. “It was a very windy day that added to the already very difficult course,” said Rost. “We didn’t play near to our capabilities. We let the elements get to us more than we should have.”

Maasen led the way with an 87, Robinson and Bennett each shot 99, and Winslow and Eden Pinkerton tied with 103.

On Friday, the Wildcats played a two-man scramble format for 18 holes at the Sullivan Invitational.

Maasen and Winslow shot 64 to take second place. Robinson and Bennett shot an 84.
