Preschoolers in Suann Bower’s class at Linn Elementary have been learning about transportation and transportation safety over the last few weeks.
Students first learned about safety signs such as stop signs, one-way signs, yield signs, pedestrian crossing signs, bike signs, and traffic signals. The class played Red Light/Green Light and practiced walking on the crosswalk at school.
The following week they learned about different modes of transportation. Students explored a John Deere tractor, a Toro mower, a school bus, a Ranger boat, a cement truck, an OAD ambulance, and two Linn police cars. The students made comparisons and observations while they discussed the features of these vehicles.
Cullen Lansford and Vance Kemp liked the cement truck the most, while Allis Miller enjoyed exploring the ambulance. Oaklyn Pendergrass said the police cars were fun because she got to turn on the lights and siren.
The class would like to thank all the community members that took the time to share their time and vehicles with them.
