Madonna Katherine Otte, 81, Carthage, formerly of Morrison, passed away Friday, Nov.18, 2022, at St. Luke’s Care Center in Carthage.

She was born April 4, 1941, to the late Sterling Roney and Hazel (Revelle) Cox in Fredericktown.

She attended school in Patton.

Madonna was united in marriage to Ronald Carl Otte Aug. 21,1976, in Glendale.

She was employed at Elsevier in Linn for 10 years before retiring.

Madonna was a member of Zion St. Peters United Church of Christ in Pershing and the Hope Valley Quilting Club.

She enjoyed making quilts for family and friends.

Madonna was preceded in death by spouse of 28 years, Ronald; parents, Sterling and Hazel; stepdaughter, Gail Mersinger; brother, Wilbur Cox; and sisters, Glenda Metz and Goldie Parsons.

She is survived by sons, Rob Walker and wife Debbie of Diamond and Jeffrey Scott Walker and wife Victoria of O’Fallon; daughter, Kathy Hopkins and husband Earl of Neosho; stepdaughter, Debra Orban of Godfrey, Ill.; brother, Wayne Cox of Ironton; sisters, Margie Sullins and husband Everett and Hilda Zarek, all of Farmington; and many grandchildren, great- grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to noon, (today) Wednesday, Nov. 23, followed by funeral services at Morton Chapel in Linn with Rev. Barb Zastrow officiating. Interment will be in the Fredericksburg Cemetery.

Memorial contributions suggested to the Fredericksburg Cemetery Fund.
