Libbert seeks reelection as Meta mayor
Meta Mayor Harold Libbert, 75, who has served as an alderman and mayor for more than 30 years during his career, is seeking reelection on April 6 after being asked by several people to run again.
“I would like to continue with the board for improvements to city projects and clean up the city,” said Libbert, a Meta resident for 53 years. “The board is progressing in cleaning the up city and keeping the streets in good shape.”
However, Libbert said he believes there is too much money spent on needless things, which could be spent on necessary things.
“I voice my opinion, which gets me in trouble sometimes, but I feel it is our job to see what is best for the residents of the city,” said Libbert.
Libbert has been in the community for a long time and in addition to positions as an alderman and mayor, he has served as a fireman, EMT, and chief water operator for the city in the past years.
Libbert added that people can vote for him if they like the things he has accomplished in previous years as their mayor.
Harold and Norma Jean have been married for 53 years and have three children, Marty Libbert, Mandi Steinlage, and Micky Libbert, and eight grandchildren.
Considering the fact this was sent via the USPS, I have no confidence they can text me a photo. I'm trying to work it out.
