Morrison aldermen agreed at their December meeting that proposals will be completed for water and sewer expenses and reviewed by Meramec Regional Planning Commission (MRPC) Program Manager Kelly Sink before being submitted for American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) relief.
A Gasconade County ARPA proposal will be completed for lost revenue.
A total of $13,116.06 has been received by the city and may only be used for water and sewer projects.
In other business, it was noted that logging at the former city dump has been completed. Morrison deposited $17,650 into the general fund. Alderman Tom Hernandez will contact Mike Mundwiller to draw up a permit for Gasconade and Morrison city residents to cut, haul, and clean up cut treetops left from logging.
* An invoice totaling $1,279.90 was approved for payment to ESA for repairs to the grinder pump overflow, which had been checked and found to be clogged with baby wipes.
* Aldermen agreed to purchase a W-2 tax kit and office supplies from Staple’s.
* The sidewalk at the bottom of the Main Street hill still needs repair and aldermen agreed it needs to be done soon.
* Aldermen are checking on membership in the Morrison Levee District.
* There are still water leaks and the city will contact the Missouri Rural Water Association (MRWA) to help locate them. Also, City Hall gutters, lights, and the front window trim need to be addressed.
* NSF-approved bleach had been purchased from Linn MFA and aldermen are considering a new bleach pump.
* Eight customers with water bills overdue were sent delinquency notices and letters were sent to three former residents and property owners who have balances due. Two meters had been shut off at the time of the meeting.
In her report, City Clerk Doris Rost noted the city received an email from Ameren Missouri stating electric facilities in Morrison will be upgraded soon.
* Treasurer Saundra Hartge’s report showed expenses of $5,623.43 in November and income totaling $14,697.72, with $25,112.16 in checking, and $20,751.38 in savings, for a total of $45,863.54 in available funds. She also reported that the Oct. 16 barbecue fundraising event generated $1,477.85 and with expenses of $455.21, the city saw net proceeds of $1,022.64.
* The next regular meeting will be held on Jan. 11 at 7:30 p.m.
