Mr. and Mrs. Michael J. Nolte of Leawood, Kan. recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. Michael is the son of Shirley Smith Nolte of Chamois and the late Henry J. Nolte. Barbie is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon B. Zeller of Boonville.
Barbie is a registered nurse and the Sales Director of Amgen Pharmaceuticals. Michael is a business owner (Nolte’s Bridal), a designer, an event planner, speaker and an author.
They have three daughters, Emma-Lea Catherine and Caroline McClain Nolte and Justine Nolte Groff; and two grandchildren, Ella Smith Groff and Harry Thomas Groff III.
Mike credits any business luck to being raised in Chamois and tutoring at the elbows of Ruby Fredeking and Jack Stonner. He is the trustee of the restoration of the Smith Family cemetery in Frankenstein, (with the invaluable help of Russell Troesser.)
The Nolte’s celebrated with a Renewal of Vows ceremony, cocktails, dinner and dancing at the Inter-Continental hotel in Kansas City.
