Osage Caring Projects provides gifts to 289 children

LINN  — Osage Caring Projects coordinator Charlotte Bellsmith is thrilled beyond measure at the program’s success again this year in providing gifts to 289 children, with 73 sponsors joining the cause to adopt 113 families.

“All of us at Osage Caring Projects thank the churches, schools, organizations, businesses, and individual sponsors that stepped up when we really needed them,” she said. “We also appreciate our amazing community that helped make this once more a total success.”

State Tech’s donation of 100 bikes made a significant difference in many ways. “We feel pride that compares to no other for each student who built a bike. Sponsors did not have to purchase bikes, so they got to buy better shoes, warmer coats, and educational toys that opened young minds to new possibilities. This was such a great gift; our families, sponsors, and volunteers felt the love we share. We are all blessed  to have this college in our community.”

Osage Caring Projects provided a helmet with each bike, along with other necessities.

Osage County Sheriff Mike Bonham and Deputy Ben Sallin delivered gifts to those who could not get to Saturday’s pick-up.

Santa and Mrs. Claus made their annual visit to the event, spreading cheer to sponsors and families alike.

Bellsmith said this Christmas season would be special for a lot of families. “We at Osage Caring Projects want to thank everyone for making a difference in a child’s life,” she said.
