Chamois had a solid outing at last Tuesday’s Show-Me Conference meet at Vienna, finishing second place as a boys’ team.
“The first conference meet at Vienna was a really good day for our runners,” said Coach John Leach. “It was cool and a great day to run.”
In the varsity boys race, all five Chamois runners turned in season-bests.
Caleb Keilholz earned All-Conference with a second-place time of 17:34, and Grayson made All-Conference with his seventh-place run in 19:15.
Kaden Wuelling was next to cross, earning ninth in 19:29, followed by Bill Kirsch (11, 19:39) and Evert Mehmert (13, 19:49).
In girls’ race, Emma Mehmert finished fifth in 23:14 for an All-Conference medal, and Carly Schollmeyer was fourth (11:40) in the JH race to claim her third straight AC performance. “I’m very proud of all my runners,” said Leach.
In the previous race at Gans Creek (hosted by Harrisburg) on Oct. 12, Keilholz finished 13th to medal in 18:04, and Kirsch was 124th with a time of 21:44. Schollmeyer was the lone Lady Pirate to compete in the JH race, earning 42nd in 14:6.
“The kids did a great job,” said Leach.
