Linn JH runner Josh Powers earned All-Conference for his third-place run in the 400m dash (1:00.32) at a very wet South Callaway track on Friday.

“It rained quite a bit and pretty hard, so we didn’t have the best times, but most of the kids said running in the rain was a lot of fun,” said Coach Jennifer Bish.

The 4x400 relay team of Knox Sowders, Owen Jaegers, Emmit Mehmert, and Powers earned third in a time of 4:33.02, and Samuel Heckman finished fourth in the discus (30.49m).

On the girls’ side, the 4x800 team of Lily Baker, Sydney Bowne, Allyson Entz, and Angel “Bella” Messenger earned fourth place in 12:15.28. After accidentally kicking off her shoe at the start of the race, Baker ran the best leg in her young career.

Baker earned fifth in the 1600m run (6:43.65) and eighth in the high jump (1.22m).
