Lukefahr Probst, 30, grew up in Linn and as of Monday, is a full-time officer with the Linn Police Department. His goal is to bring a sense of peace akin to his early upbringing.
“I chose to work for the Linn Police Department because I grew up in this town,” said Probst, who graduated from the Missouri Sheriffs’ Association Training Academy in 2019. “Back then, I could happily and safely walk around town and I would like to provide that same comfort for future generations.”
Before undertaking law enforcement training, Probst, the son of Osage County Coroner AJ Probst and Cheryl Probst, and brother of Capital City Christian Church’s student pastor Louis Probst, worked at Osage Ambulances from 2011 to 2021.
Probst said the most important aspect of being a police officer is humility. “I understand in this line of work I am a servant to the community,” he added. “Putting the community’s best interests in front of mine and protecting the people who reside here is the ultimate goal.”
Lukefahr and his wife, Autumn, live in Linn.
