Reba Mae Whitaker, 97, Clearwater, Calif., formerly of Dixon and Osage Beach, passed away Monday, Aug. 16, 2021, at her residence.
She was born April 27, 1930, to Owen Walter and Mabel Marie (Kelley) Dake, in Dixon.
She was united in marriage to Arthur Elis Whitaker June 26, 1946, in Rolla.
Reba’s family lived in Dixon and later Osage Beach prior to their moving to the state of California in 1961. While living in Osage Beach, Reba was employed in restaurant work as a waitress. She was baptised in the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by parents Owen and Mabel; husband Arthur; brothers Farris Dake, Cletus Dake and Kenneth Dake; and sisters Vinita Rollins, Linda Hauck and Marcella Groves.
She is survived by children Arlene Medina (Govert VanNouhuys) of Pamona, Calif.; Darryl Whitaker (Shellie) of Warner Springs, Calif.; Lavira Macias of Clearlake, Calif.; Rena Whitaker of West Point, Iowa; Betty Conta (Foday) of Lynnwood, Wash.; Arthur Whitaker of Clearlake, Calif.; Glenn Whitaker (Nancy), Santee, Calif.; and Dwayne Whitaker of Clearlake, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters Norma Workman of St. James and Eula Wolf (Bill), Petersburg, Ill.
Visitation will be Monday, Oct. 4, at 1 p.m. at the Seaton Cemetery, Dixon, graveside services following at 2 p.m. with daughter Arlene Medina officiating. Internment will follow in the cemetery.
Memorials suggested to the Seaton Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund.
