Robert Eugene Weatherford, known to all as Pete, of Owensville, departed this life Wednesday, April 30, 2025, having reached the age of 92 years, five months, and three days.
He was born Nov. 27, 1932, to the late Bert Morley Weatherford and Jewell Weatherford nee Frakes in St. Clair.
He was united in marriage to Kathleen Stroisch nee Hagen July 8, 2014.
Pete was a Christian, having been raised in the Methodist faith and having attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Owensville, with Kathleen.
He was employed by Shade Tree Service Company as a foreman, L.E. Myers Company, and various other tree trimming companies throughout his working career.
Pete was also a proud member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 2 in St. Louis, for 74 years.
During his high school days, he was a very good basketball player, as well as being a member of the track team, winning awards for St. Clair High School. In his younger years, he also enjoyed trapping and fox hunting. Pete loved spending time outdoors, whether working on the farm, raising cattle or putting up fence. He also loved antiquing and buying and selling properties to remodel. He also loved playing cards and bingo.
What meant most to Pete was time spent with family. The love they shared and many precious memories they created together will be cherished by them all forever.
A kind and loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, great and great-great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, Pete will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by parents, Bert and Jewell; brother, Jack Weatherford; and sister, Virginia Pilkenton.
Pete is survived by wife, Kathleen of Owensville; daughters from his first wife, Wendy Morton and husband James of Chesterfield, Lee Ann Garbs and Deborah Thomas and husband Thomas, all of Owensville, Lori Schaumburg of Washington and Bobbie Noelker and husband Bill of New Haven; grandchildren, Krista Goldman and husband Silas, Jarid Clark and wife Jennifer, Ashley Morton, James Morton and significant other, Brittany Rosner, Alecia Garbs and significant other Javier Rojas, Jr., Meagan Garbs and significant other, Michael Muschkat, Ian and Kyle Tindal, William Tindal and wife Kia, Emma Corley and husband Joey, Jack and Martha Noelker, Drew Noelker and significant other Grace Struttmann and Crystal Kurk;16 great-grandchildren, with two on the way; nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair with Rev. Donna Schofield-Dolle officiating.
Interment was in the United Methodist Cemetery in St. Clair.
